About us
Drawing Design Management was formed in May 1994 with the purpose of providing a comprehensive service of surveying, design, detailing & management for manufacturers of architectural metalwork and structural steelwork.
The business is operated by Lee Freeman & Lee Gaisford who became joint owners in November 2016. We currently employ 11 members of staff and continue to expand.
Our current team of 2 Senior Designer / CAD technicians, 6 CAD Technicians and 2 Trainee CAD Technicians are using up-to-date 3D CAD software (Tekla Structures) for the detailing of Structural Steelwork, Staircases, Balustrades and all other architectural steelwork items. The two senior members of the team have considerable experience within this field of construction, being Lee Freeman and Lee Gaisford , and to ensure we are competent and adequately resourced to address all Health & Safety issues likely to be involved in the design of the elements of the work being processed, our key employees, when required, are provided with training obtained from outside consultants, to ensure understanding of our responsibilities within the current requirements of the CDM Regulations. We also operate an internal Q.A.Q.C documented checking process covering our design and detailing procedures.
The company, as required by legislation, is fully insured and we also carry our own P.I cover. We are members of the British Standards Institute, which enables us to ensure that all designs are checked against the up-to-date regulations and standards ensuring that the designs required by the client are suitable for the use intended.
Our designs when required are checked structurally through independent structural engineering practices either appointed by our clients or sub contracted by ourselves – in the case of the latter carrying their own Professional Indemnity Insurance.
We are members of the Forum of Private Business enabling us to keep up to date with all current Employment and Health and Safety legislation, we also have a comprehensive “backup server” procedure in place to ensure documentation disaster recovery.
